At Standby Savvy, trust is the whole point. This page explains how we research, write, and maintain our guides so you know exactly what stands behind the advice.
Who writes our content
Our articles are written and edited by people with real backup-power experience, led by Marcus Ryder, a former licensed electrician with twelve years of installation and service work. We do not publish anonymous, outsourced, or AI-spun filler.
How we research
We combine hands-on experience with primary sources: manufacturer manuals and spec sheets, the National Electrical Code, and reputable industry and government references. When we cite a figure, a wattage, a price range, a runtime, we aim to ground it in a verifiable source or clearly frame it as an estimate.
Accuracy and corrections
We review every article before publishing. If we get something wrong, we want to know. Email us and we will investigate; when we make a meaningful correction, we update the article and note that it was revised.
Independence
Our recommendations are editorially independent. We are not paid by manufacturers to feature products, and advertising or affiliate relationships never determine our conclusions. Where affiliate links appear, they are disclosed on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
Updates
Backup-power technology, prices, and codes change. We revisit our most important guides periodically and refresh them so they stay useful.
